I adored this book! Sweet with a little bit of heat, enough suspense that kept me flipping pages long after bedtime, and characters that were easy to fall in love with. It was so fun to watch Adam and Jane (Jayden's real name) dance around each other and their attraction. The town of Eagle's Ridge came alive under the talented hands of Ms. St Claire, truly making me feel as if I could just look out my window and see the beautiful mountain. I love the premise of 7 boys from the same town going into the military, only to return to the town they love to find their way back and I can't wait to continue the series! While this is book 2 in the series, it can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. But I really don't think you are going to want to miss a single book of the 7!

7 Brides for 7 Soldiers is a series written by 7 different authors and next up is the story of Adam written by Roxanne St Claire. One of the things I love about Roxanne's writing is that she includes an element of suspense in many of her books.. and this book is no exception.

The backdrop of this story is a town called Eagle Ridge where Adam came home to after leaving the Coast Guard. He is in the process of refurbishing an old boat house into a retreat center for troubled youth and is desperately in need of some design assistance. This is where Jadyn enters the picture. She has come to Eagle Ridge to live "under the radar" and ends up applying for the job as the interior designer on Adam's project.

But all is not as it seems to Adam and he is not sure Jadyn is who she says she is.He reluctantly allows her to join him on the project... his wariness about her keeps his defenses up but as he begins to unravel her story, he finds himself falling for her.

The suspense builds as their defenses weaken and Jadyn's past finds its way to Eagle Ridge. The story is well written and the ending is satisfying. I like how this book is tied to the first book and I anticipate the remaining 5 books will follow suit. It was a quick read.. one I am sure you will enjoy.
I love a series where several authors get together and create a set of individual stories around a certain theme. In this case, 7 soldiers who grew up in Eagle Ridge will come home to settle down and find a life and love and happiness in unexpected places.
In book 2 of this series, Roxanne St Claire tells the story of Adam Tucker who owns a rafting and kayaking tour company with his twin Zane. As part of the comapny, Adam wants to use a warehouse on the property to create a bunk house. He wants to use it to host summer camps for troubled young people. The only problem is that he only has 3 weeks to finish the renovations. Luckily, an interior designer just happens to drop into his lap but she's got more secrets than the CIA. She's on the run from a drug-lord and is under the protection of the FBI.
He needs help and she needs a job - together they work to complete the project but also to help each other get over damaging events in their past.
Roxanne St Claire does a great job with her descriptions of the environment - the mountains, the river, the raging storms... She does an even better job with the dialogue between Adam and Jane/ aka Jayden. They each have their secrets and yet they haven't been able to open up to anyone before. For two people who are so independent and closed off it is even more exciting to see them get their Happily Ever After.
I said this with the first book in the series - I love this town. The idea of a series where the town as much a character as the hero and heroine are some of my favorites. What makes this series better is that since it is multiple authors and a book is released each week we dont have a long wai, we also get introduced to the other characters little by little before the hero's title

Adam is a twin (as a Mom to twins I have a soft space in my heart for charactwrs who are twins) and older brother to Bailey. Bailey and Ryder's romance might be thawing out the feud between the Tuckers and Westbrooks. He has made a bet with his twin and nothing will stop him from making his bunkhouse remodel happen. Jadyn might be the perfect person to help him with his vision.

Adam is a character I could love from the first page. I felt for his personal pain, and I could agree with his caution with the mysterious designer.

Jadyn as a character was hard for me to embrace. Not only was she guarded with Adam, but I felt she was guarded with the readers too.

My favorite part the continuity with book 1, it is so good.
